Civil War Weekend
Confederate and Union re-enactors bring Suffolk's Civil War history to life throughout this family-oriented, activity-filled weekend in historic Downtown Suffolk. Activities include narrated bus tours, guided museum tours, expert guest speakers, booksignings and horse and carriage rides.

Historic Garden Week in Suffolk
Tour 7 "Riverfront at Harbour View" homes and gardens in Suffolk. Part of Historic Garden Week in Virginia.

April 18 - 24
Azalea Festival
The 2005 Azalea Festival celebrates Norway and her centennial. Events include performing artists, tattoo performances featuring His Majesty the King's Guard and many exhibits throughout Norfolk. The festival will continue its strong tradition of events as well including the Parade of Nations, Coronation of Queen Azalea and her Court, Queenıs Dinner and Ball, Flag Raising Ceremony, Golf Tournament and more.

April 19
Historic Garden Week in Williamsburg
The Williamsburg Garden Club's 72nd tour presents two historic properties in Colonial Williamsburg, the Dr. Barraud House and the Bruton Parish Rectory. An escorted walking tour of gardens in the colonial area is also included. Open for the first time are three beautiful and unique homes in Holly Hills, a lovely neighborhood within a few blocks of Colonial Williamsburg.

Historic Garden Week in Virginia Beach
The "Birdneck Point - Something for Everyone" tour of homes and gardens in Virginia Beach. Charming oceanfront cottages to stately historic homes.

April 20
Historic Garden Week in Yorktown
Houses and gardens will be open for a walking tour in historic Yorktown. Visit 18th-century houses and other buildings which witnessed America's Revolutionary War victory over British forces in the autumn of 1781. A performance by the Fifes and Drums of York Town and demonstrations by the York County Master Gardeners are also included.

April 21
Historic Garden Week in Norfolk
"Along the City's Cobblestones" tour of homes and gardens in the historic Freemason District of downtown Norfolk. The district represents the earliest residential streetscape in the city and was developed just after the American Revolution. Its marshy land was made passable in the first half of the 19th century with cobblestone paving salvaged as ballast from ships returning to Europe laden with goods. Walk along those cobblestones today in a neighborhood that celebrates its historical importance while embracing the contemporary trend toward harmonious melding of residential and commercial adaptation.

April 22 - May 22
Virginia Arts Festival
From Williamsburg to Virginia Beach, the Virginia Arts Festival hosts top-flight artists from around the world in classical music, dance, theater, world music and jazz. The Virginia International Tattoo, a signature festival event, features more than 700 performers, including military bands, massed pipes and drums, dancers, acrobats, and more.

April 25 ­ June 11
Dolphin Watching Boat Trips
Observe bottlenose dolphins in their natural habitat aboard the catamaran Atlantic Princess. Learn about dolphin social behaviors and the latest research studies. Call to pre-register. Dolphin Watch trips leave from the Virginia Beach Fishing Center at Rudee Inlet.
